You’ve made up your mind, it’s the American Pit Bull Terrier you
want as your companion. Are you ready for this breed? Read this
article and then decide if you want to go ahead with your
decision.

Does your lifestyle fit the American Pit Bull Terrier
lifestyle?

These dogs are packed with energy from head to toe. Craving a
good run like a champion athlete. Exercise is critical to a
heathy, happy bulldog. High energy is their middle name and is a
large part of their personalities. Play, work, and activity is
something you must be able to give these dogs

If you’re a couch potato you should find another breed to live
with.

Do you have the security?

American Pit Bull Terriers are the Houdini’s of the canine
world. Able to leap tall fences with a single bound, dig under
them with amazing speed and stealth, and unlock gates that
people would have trouble with.

You should have 6′ privacy fence, beware of dog signs, hot
wiring at the top and bottom of the fence, out door housing that
keeps them out of the sun (even if they live indoors), and
supervision are required for these dogs. You can’t leave them
alone for long outside because one of two things may happen:

1. They escape. 2. They’re stolen.

Are you prepared for the scrutiny of neighbors and friends?

American Pit Bull Terriers are notorious. They have a bad name
and the misinformed public is out to get them. It seems like
everyday another “Baby mauled by pit bull” story runs,
diminishing your choice of breed.

People will dislike you for your choice. Some may even try to
kill your dog. Others will direct comments at you, vulgar,
hateful comments, and friends and family may also be in conflict
with your choice.

Be prepared for some rude behavior and protect your dog by
teaching food refusal from strangers.

Can you train your dog?

There are two methods of training. One is to train your dog by
showing it how to sit and lay down and then quitting. The other
lasts forever. Real training is life long training that starts
when the puppy arrives at your home and ends with death.

Unless you’re prepared to work with your dog 5-10-15 minutes per
day, everyday, all week, every week, all year, every year, you
may want to rethink your decision to get a Pit Bulldog.
Actually, if you’re not prepared to train your dog, you should
rethink getting any dog. Training is a fact of life and must be
done in order to prevent a lot of trouble down the road.

If you can not control your dog, you don’t need one.

Can you afford them?

Dog food, vet bills, training, leashes and collars, and dog
houses all cost money. Money you may not have right now. A
quality dog food can cost as much as $800 per year. Do you have
this kind of extra money to spend on food? If not, wait until
you do before you bring home that puppy.

Do you want a American Pit Bull Terrier to impress people?

If this is the case, stop! Do not, repeat, do not bring one
home. You’re doing yourself and the dog a great injustice.

American Pit Bull Terriers are in demand because of their all
around strength, agility, great looks, and mystic. Breeders are
pumping puppies out like unleaded gasoline. Puppies are being
neglected and bad breeding practices are producing unstable
dogs. Beware before you make any final decisions.

If I may point you in a different direction. Every day there are
thousands of great bulldogs put down because no one will adopt
them or they are deemed “unadoptable” by shelters.

Consider a Rescue Dog.

People who love this breed have created rescues for these dogs
and hundreds of dogs are available for adoption.

Rescues are a win-win-win way to go. You give a dog that would
otherwise not have a home, a home. You give your money (which in
most cases is a small adoption fee) to the rescue so they can
continue their work, and you get an awesome dog that will 9
times out of 10 deliver more than any pure-bred dog could on
their best day.

In closing, before you run out and buy a American Pit Bull
Terrier, think about your options, make sure you have what it
takes to provide and care for the dog, and take your time to
find a dog that matches your desires.

5 doorways to building business

When all is said and done, building a business is not rocket science. But you must reach out and build meaningful relationships by being very clear about who you are, what you offer and how you offer it.

Please do not confuse this with networking. To succeed at creating a business that reflects your passions, you must go to your clients and connect with them. The method you choose must suit you. Otherwise you won’t do it or you’ll do it with limited success.

Imagine five doorways, each with a distinct purpose for connecting with people. Take out a paper and a pen and draw the doorways. As we go, write notes in each one. It will get the ideas out of your head and help focus in ways that reflect your unique approach.

Doorway No. 1: Where
If you’re like me, you would rather get a rabies shot than go to networking events. Yet, building a community of business is central to success.

In this doorway, instead of thinking about where you “should” go, write ways you already connect with people, or ways you’ve connected in the past that come easy to you. Write down places or situations where you enjoy connecting.

Mine– A class. A creative project. Even shopping. I’ve made some of my best connections while shopping. When I have a context, my nervousness recedes. I relax. I get curious about people and, in turn, make meaningful connections

Doorway No. 2: How
Write down how you stay informed. What Internet sites? What magazines or papers? What is your favorite radio station?
Online publications, newspapers, radio shows and magazines need people to write or speak. By using the media you enjoy, you connect with prospective clients that have similar interests and values. You might notice that these first two doorways are about you. We so often forget that being successful in marketing means honoring how you interact in the world.
Once you start writing or speaking, you’ll gain confidence and credibility. And you’ll meet people who want to know more about what you do.

Write down your favorite “information highways,” and in a word or two write why you like them and what articles or programs you’d like to offer.

What’s key? Trust that you have something important to share and you have a unique approach just by being you.

Doorway No. 3: Who
This third doorway is my favorite: Who?
The traditional model promotes choosing customers by their demographics. My approach- I identify the qualities of people. I love working with independent, creative, highly motivated people building businesses they’re passionate about. When I go into a room I immediately gravitate to them and vice versa.
It’s fun, natural and enjoyable.

Write down who you enjoy being with. Use adjectives. Think about the people you enjoy. Describe them. What we often forget is that people hire people they can relate to.

Doorway No. 4: What
Once you’ve decided the “who,” this doorway addresses your customer’s needs. At this point, it is all about them. WHAT do they want? What do they really, really want?
Choose three people from your “who” doorway. Think about them. Write down what. What programs, products, seminars or booklets do you offer to serve their needs?

People like to test the waters before they dive in. If you give them a chance to sample what you do, they can safely test you out before investing their time and money.

Doorway No. 5: Help!
This last doorway asks you to identify the skills, support and resources you need to connect most effectively with your potential customers. It may be technical skill, referral partnerships or ways to fine tune your presentation.

Be honest. Write your “needs” list. Keep it simple.
Now that you’ve created a brain storm of ideas, circle one or two you are willing to take action with today. What’s one call you can make? One email you can write. And do so. Now.

And remember - typically, it’s not the skill-set that people lack, but the courage to reach out and connect.

Brazil has the Amazon, the world’s largest rainforest and river; Brazil has the Iguassu Falls, the biggest waterfalls in the world; Brazil has the Pantanal, the hugest concentration of wild life in America; Brazil has the longest tropical beach coast in the world, with internationally unknown paradisiacal beaches. Brazil has the biggest popular street festival in the world (the Carnival)…

Those are objective and statistically verifiable phenomena. But I would dare to add another one: Brazil also has the world’s most genuine set of musical traditions and expressions.

An assertion too bold?

Undoubtedly. And a risky one, too… I should explain myself better. I do not contest the dominance of anglo-american music, or the prominence of some higher expressions of it. I accept that. In a certain sense, if compared to north-american music, brazilian music is just a minor player in the world music panorama.

When I place the Brazilian music at the top of the world rank, I am selecting some particular expressions of it. And I am considering the way Brazilians live their music and express it.

Brazilians love music, with an intensity unknown elsewhere. In places like Salvador da Bahia the music and dance are a regular popular explosion. Until midnight on certain days of the long summer, the music doesn’t stop, with people and vendors mixing with bands and street musicians everywhere. For Bahianos (the inhabitants of Bahia) and Cariocas (the inhabitants of Rio) any occasion is suited for music.

You may ask: and the creativity, and the artistic themes? Where are the higher expressions of that music? Do they exist?

Surely. And by that I am not pointing to some major samba themes (there are major samba themes), or to the Bossa Nova of forty or fifty years ago. I mean present day music, top quality in the world (though not necessarily at the commercial top).

Some of the present day brazilian music is highly elaborated, demanding attention, with lyrics having a very broad importance (its lower international visibility is due to the language in which it is expressed: Portuguese).

There are plenty of new highly inventive brazilian composers and performers. And Brazilians love their musicians and composers. They are their gods. Gods with names like Maria Bethania, Gal Costa, Ivan Lins, Ivete Sangalo, Elis Regina, Djavan, Daniela Mercury, Elba Ramalho, Marisa Monte, Milton Nascimento, Rita Lee, Adriana Calcanhoto…

I want to talk about something serious today, some parents
are not even aware of. Inhalant sniffing to get high or feel
good is done by a number of children.

Do you know that one in three children, according to some
studies, experiment with inhalants? They may start as early
as eight or so.

Inhalant users may come from any background. Rich or poor,
any color, An A average student or a student failing in their
grades. Many have some things in common - they are abused at
home, or unhappy in their lives, or they are susceptible to
peer pressure.

The sad thing is that inhalants could KILL your child the first
time the product is sniffed from heart failure or suffocation. It can damage the lungs permenantly. It is possible that there will be children that they hang around with, or meet at school, that will be introducing your children to new ways to “feel good” which may include inhalants.

Please have a talk with your children today. Many have no idea that sniffing things such as markers or computer duster from the can is a type of drug abuse and very risky. Go on the internet and get your self-educated so you know what to look for and what to warn against. It could save your Childs life!

Much more resilient than all other types of tonneau covers, hard shell covers are also far and away the most expensive covers for your truck. However, as with everything in life you get what you pay for.

In the case of a hard shell tonneau cover you get a lot more too, including: a secure lock, overhanging sides, hinged at the front, hydraulic struts, automotive weather stripping, theft protection, and a water tight seal. Another advantage of hard shell tonneau covers is that many manufacturers produce them so that they can be painted to match your finish. Money is no object. Your time is your own to spend as you like for as long as you wish. Dream BIGGER now. What fills your soul with more joy than youve ever felt before? Remember the best experience of your life? Start there and make it as amazing as you can.

How are you spending your days and nights? Who are you with? What are you doing? What emotions are coming up? What smells are in the air? What are your favorite foods that youre eating and tasting? What cities and countries are you visiting? What are you wearing?

As you reach out to touch your loved ones youre sharing this life with what sensations run through your hands? -Get as specific as possible. The more specific you are the more youll get out of doing this. I want you to see, hear, feel, taste and smell every little piece of the life you were born to live.

As you walk into your dream house how big are the doors? How high are the walls? How much of the square footage is covered in windows? How have you furnished it? How many rooms does it have? How many rooms does your guest house have? How many acres of property do you own? What do you see outside of the windows? A meadow? A stream? The ocean? The sunset?

Is this the most fantastic day of your life? YES, it is. Get more in depth. See how your smile looks. Feel the warmth in your heart and the ease and peace in your spirit. Hear the sounds of the surroundings that feed your soul. Feel the excitement in your bones as you realize that you are actually living in your dream come true.

How amazing do you feel right now? You deserve this life dont you? YES, you do.This is no accident. If you are in a human body then you deserve to use it to build the life you truly want to be living. Hundreds of thousands of people are doing it right now. Can’t you do it too? YES, you can. You may need some help, guidance and support, but you can and you will create the life of your dreams. YES, it’s yours for the taking.

YES, you’re ready. YES, you will live it now. How do you feel right now? YES, right now at this moment. Imagine feeling this light and warm every day. You’re smiling aren’t you? If you aren’t then you didn’t do the exercise above slow enough to absorb it and I invite you to do it again.

Feeling is what creates what we have and do. Positive thinking without honest feeling behind it will leave you wondering why nothing’s changed.

When you learn to consciously create with your feelings you’ll start getting better results in your life. Right now you’re probably getting results based on your unconscious feelings.
